Subject Description | Students will develop a thorough technical background to cope with all stylistic demands; establish a sizeable concert repertory covering all styles. Includes advanced study of instrumental or vocal repertory and all related aspects of music performance. On completion of the subject, students should be able to • conceive, design and implement the creation of a musically coherent recital program • demonstrate sustained artistic maturity in the preparation of recital repertoire • perform the component works of a program with assured musical understanding • sustain a level of instrumental or vocal craft that communicates and enhances the repertoire presented. |
Assessment | A 45-minute recital examination at the end of the year of an approved program of pieces (100%). Programs must be submitted to the coordinator for approval not later than week 5 of the semester. Students must participate as a performer (as determined by the coordinator) in concert class, performance class and instrument class as arranged in order to complete the subject. |
