There are no scheduled classes for this subject. Students undertake an independent research project under supervision. The project is of a maximum of 10,000 words.

Students enrolled in this subject will:

• develop the capacity to undertake independent research;

• develop the methodological and organisational ability in the conduct of this research;

• develop the capacity to develop an argument and muster evidence in the writing of the research project

On completion of this subject students will have demonstrated the capacity for independent thought, rational inquiry and self-directed learning; the ability to plan work and use time effectively; an understanding of the philosophical and methodological bases of research activity.
