Subject Description | Research Project (AMS) is a continuation of Advanced Medical Science 2 for those students undertaking the honours component of the Bachelor of Medical Science course, and comprises an extension of the existing research project being undertaken in Advanced Medial Science 2. |
Generic Skills | - Develop skills in research and critical appraisal of the literature; - Develop skills in using and evaluating evidence; - Increase the understanding and use of statistical techniques; - Perception of the benefits and value of research; - Encourage an understanding of diversity in medicine; - Encourage independence in defining areas for study; - Enhance oral and written communication skills; - Encourage learning in medically relevant areas. |
Assessment | The principal assessment is the AMS Project Report, which comprises an additional 50 points (i.e. minimum 100 points of research for the BMedSc(Hons) program). The report should be between 12,000-15,000 words. |
