Subject Description

Students will study the nature of learning and curriculum content in classroom music, and how student achievement can be recognised, assessed and reported. The main focus will be instrumental teaching from primary to VCE in the context of group or individual lessons and ensembles. Supporting this will be studies of acoustics, teaching philosophy and elements of arranging and conducting. Particular reference will be made to the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS) and materials published by the Victorian Board of Studies on VCE music performance.
