Subject Description

This subject focuses on approaches to evaluation that are useful to inform decision making about different stages of learning program provision (eg. needs assessment; benchmarking best practice; clarification of program design and program theory development; action research to improve practice; and monitoring and impact evaluation). Content will also include practical and cost effective ways to collect, analyse and disseminate evaluation information. Particular emphasis will be placed on negotiating evaluation plans with clients and stakeholders to meet their needs.

Assessment

Assignments totalling 4000 words or equivalent.

Prescribed Texts

A collection of appropriate readings will be prepared for students.
