Subject Description

This subject offers an overview of educational theory and practice to enable students to develop their initial perspectives of teaching through an understanding of children, schools and society; an introductory examination of the philosophical and sociological bases of education, linked to experiences in schools; and an overview of developmental theories which have contributed to knowledge of how children come to understand their world and their social reality.

Assessment

Assignments totalling 4500 words or equivalent.
