Subject Description | This subject will explore teaching techniques and their adaptation to different abilities and learning styles; and a range of learning outcomes in settings for children 3-5 years of age. It will develop linkages with Teaching and Professional Practice and build on the understandings developed in Learning and Teaching for Young Children. The focus for this subject will be developmentally appropriate practice for teachers working with children 3-5 years of age and the provision of high quality learning environments for children from diverse backgrounds and of diverse developmental capacities. Students will address issues of group dynamics, planning for individual needs and interests, and the importance of equitable outcomes for all children and their families that acknowledge gender, culture, ethnic and developmental differences. |
