Subject Description | On completion of this subject, students should have gained an understanding of the project and construction management aspects involved with the delivery of an engineering structure. 1. Project management concepts including feasibility studies, project financing, strategic planning, cash flow and cost control; quality assurance principles, standards and practice. 2. Estimating and tendering civil engineering construction works, including work breakdown structures, work method statements, risk identification and tendering principles; detailed study of contract documents for design and construction including various party responsibilities and authorities; and contract administration. 3. Human resource skills in the building and construction industry, including Occupational Health and Safety and Enterprise Bargaining practices. |
