Subject Description | At the completion of this subject students should have an understanding of the roles of design, investigation and construction practices in the field of construction engineering. Topics covered include site investigation; construction systems including foundations, cofferdams, earthwork, ground support, falsework and scaffolding, formwork, plant and equipment; design aspects of construction systems, pavements and temporary works; plant selection including earthmoving equipment, tunnelling, cranage; and survey control methods for engineering construction above and below ground and water. |
