Subject Description	This subject provides both the conceptual frameworks and practical illustrations of business analysis techniques including decision trees, linear programming and related management science methods. These frameworks will be applied to resource allocation decisions faced by organisations, with applications to decisions in the areas of production, marketing and finance.
Generic Skills	High level of development: written communication; problem solving; team work; statistical reasoning; application of theory to practice; interpretation and analysis; critical thinking; synthesis of data and other information; evaluation of data and other information. Moderate level of development: oral communication; collaborative learning; use of computer software; receptiveness to alternative ideas.
Assessment	A 2-hour examination (60%) and assignment(s) totalling not more than 4000 words (40%).
