Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, when successfully implemented, link financial, manufacturing, human resources, distribution and order management systems into an integrated single system with shared data and visibility across the business. This subject takes ERP and investigates supply chain and customer relationship management aspects. It considers the use of ERPs for planning and scheduling; integration with external businesses; and customer relationship applications. Other related topics include portals and application service providers, business data communications and project management.

• High level of development: oral communication; written communication; collaborative learning; problem solving; team work; application of theory to practice; interpretation and analysis; critical thinking; synthesis of data and other information; evaluation of data and other information; accessing data and other information from a range of sources; receptiveness to alternative ideas.

• Moderate level of development: use of computer software.

A 2-hour end-of-semester examination (50%), one group assignment equivalent to not more than 3000 words (20%) with presentations (20%) and class participation (10%).
