Subject Description

This subject aims to equip students with skills in the design and management of gardens and garden plantings. The content in this subject will include an overview of garden design, the design process, planting design, design principles, garden history and styles, garden planning and scheduling. Case-studies will be used to demonstrate aspects of garden design and management.

Assessment

A garden management portfolio, equivalent to 3000 words 50% (due mid-semester) and a written assignment based on garden history of 3000 words 50% (due end of the semester)..
