Subject Description

This subject draws on students' experiences in professional practice to develop their understanding of, and skills in, the processes of program design, implementation and evaluation, in the context of social work and human service organisations.

Generic Skills

  • be able to understand social, cultural, organisational and ethical contexts and dimensions of practice;

  • be able to link theory to practice;

  • be able to work effectively with colleagues;

  • be able to undertake independent research;

  • be able to communicate effectively in ways relevant to both academic and practice contexts.

Assessment

A group project to which each student contributes 4000 words 100% (due at the end of semester). A hurdle requirement of a minimum 80% attendance at seminars required.
