Subject Description

This subject examines the laws relating to violent offences and data on the nature and distribution of violence in Australia. It covers such specific forms of violence as homicide, assault, robbery, rape, and the general topic of domestic violence, including theoretical perspectives. Students will be introduced to the assessment of theoretical explanations proposed for the study of violence.

Assessment

An essay of 4000 words 100% (due mid-semester). Fourth year students will complete an essay of 5000 words 100%.
