Prerequisites | Completion of 37.5 points of second/third year Jewish studies for third year. Admission to the postgraduate diploma or fourth year combined honours in Jewish studies for fourth year. Approval of the subject coordinator is also required. |

Subject Description | This is a special research project based on a subject taken previously or concurrently. It gives third year students with a strong interest in a particular area the opportunity to extend and deepen their knowledge of the topic, sharpen their critical faculties in relation to source material and secondary literature, and acquire substantial skills in planning and executing a research project. The subject will suit committed and highly motivated students who wish to pursue an independent project in preparation for fourth year. |

Assessment | A research essay of 4000 words for 3rd year students and 5000 words for 4th year students in Hebrew or English on a prescribed topic in consultation with the supervisor 100% (due at the end of semester). |
