Students will participate in the Victorian research programme of the Chinese Australian Cultural Heritage (CACH) Project, an Australian Heritage Commission initiative, in collaboration with the Cultural Heritage Unit (in the School of Historical Studies) and Heritage Victoria (State Government).

Generic Skills

  • be able to evaluate and synthesise the research and professional literature in the discipline;

  • have an appreciation of the design, conduct and reporting of original research;

  • develop their ability to work collaboratively, to report and communicate their results.

Assessment

A 1000 word heritage report 20% (due mid semester) and a field-based written research project of 4000 words 80% (due at the end of semester).
