Subject Description

This subject is taught in Swedish and deals with expressions of modern Swedish culture and society. It gives an overview of the social history of the modern Swedish state, and studies in detail some major works of 20th century literature and film. The subject explores the interplay between Swedish society and works of art.

Generic Skills

  • be able to express themselves in a clear and structured way in writing;

  • be able to deliver oral presentations with ease and confidence;

  • be able to work efficiently as a team member and have developed skills in cross-cultural analysis.

Assessment

Written work totalling 1000 words 25% (during the semester) and a research essay of 3000 words 75% (due end of the semester).
