Subject Description

This subject builds on skills acquired in 126-070 Advanced Swedish A and comprises language training, a survey of Swedish culture and society, and the study of selected poetry and prose from 1880 to the present. Students will also be introduced to Danish and Norwegian for reading comprehension purposes.

Generic Skills

  • be able to express themselves in a clear and structured way in writing and be able to deliver oral presentations with ease and confidence;

  • be able to work efficiently as a team member and have developed skills in cross-cultural analysis.

Assessment

A 2-hour written examination 40% (due end of the semester), a 15 minute oral presentation based on a research report 20% (due end of the semester), a written research report 20% (during semester) and regular language tests and assignments totalling 1000 words 20% (throughout the semester).
