Subject Description

This subject builds on skills acquired in Beginners Swedish. It focuses on reading, writing, vocabulary and grammatical structure, as well as listening and speaking in a variety of registers and situations. Thereby, students will gain an increased understanding of Swedish in an extended variety of contexts. Students will expand their vocabulary to a moderate level of complexity in the speaking, aural understanding, reading and writing of Swedish.

Generic Skills

  • have further developed speaking and listening skills;

  • be able to express themselves in a variety of contexts;

  • be able to work efficiently as a team member and have an understanding of social and cultural diversity.

Assessment

A 2-hour written examination 40% (end of the semester), oral and written assignments totalling 1000 words 20% (throughout the semester), a 1-hour test 20% (mid semester) and a 15-minute oral examination 20% (end of semester).
