Admission to the postgraduate diploma or fourth year honours or any masters coursework degree.

This subject provides students with advanced level analysis and interpretation of the range of issues associated with cultural resource management. The subject advances student knowledge of cross cultural issues as they relate to resource management and examines specific issues pertaining to the evaluation and management of cultural resources. On completion of the subject, students should develop an understanding and/or knowledge of: the structures of governance that protect cultural resources in variously scaled jurisdictions; the methods used to evaluate cultural resources - technical and cultural; resource management systems that integrate different types of environmental knowledge and practice, including Traditional Ecological Knowledge; management of various heritage landscapes; illustrative cases of the complexities of cultural resource management.
