121-520 Environmental Studies Thesis

Students must have permission from the coordinator to enrol in this subject

Admission to the postgraduate diploma or fourth year honours in environmental studies.

An approved topic/research project selected in consultation with the supervisor/s. The student will also write a research proposal and give an oral presentation on the proposed research.

• think critically (for example, about environmental studies and its measures);

• obtain information to evaluate propositions (about some principles in environmental studies);

• write a coherent and empirically substantiated research paper;

• defend that paper.

A thesis of 15 000 words 100% (due in the second semester of enrolment). Hurdle requirement: a 2000 word research proposal, a 30-minute oral presentation and attendance at School research seminars.
