Subject Description | The subject consists of two parts: (1) Contrastive analysis of Italian and English sound systems and language structures in order to highlight the differences; and (2) Varieties of Italian component which will focus on a range of varieties of Italian in use today. This will include looking at factors (eg. regional, social, cultural and political) that may influence such variation. It will also consider the influence of other languages on Italian. This subject is both descriptive and practical and is intended to give students a better understanding of Italian in its many contexts. |
