Note	Students who have completed 922-211 or 922-213 La Trobe - Spanish Beginners 2A are not eligible to enrol in this subject. This subject is taught by the School of Languages and Linguistics at the University of Melbourne.

Prerequisites	Completion of first-year Beginners Spanish or adequate knowledge of Spanish, without completion of VCE Spanish or an approved equivalent. Students should consult with program advisors prior to enrolment.

Contact	A 1-hour seminar and a 1-hour tutorial class per week
Subject Description	In this course, students will be introduced to key moments and themes of the Hispanic World: these range from Hispanics in Melbourne to Franco Spain.
Generic Skills	enhanced analytical skills; enhanced observational skills; enhanced communication skills. enhanced critical skills.
Assessment	Group project 30% (due during semester), two tests 25% each (due during semester) and participation throughout the semester 20%.
Prescribed Texts	A course reader will be available.
