Subject Description

The twentieth century in Latin America has seen the rise and fall of numerous military regimes led by dictators. This subject will explore the cultural manifestations of both propaganda and resistance to these dictatorships. The types of cultural products studied in this subject include: posters, music, literature and film.

Assessment

Contribution to tutorial discussions 15% (throughout the semester), two essays 30% each (due during semester), and one test 25% (during the semester).
