Subject Description

This subject involves written and oral exercises designed to consolidate Year 12 linguistic skills, enhancing both fluency and accuracy. These will include discussions on topics of social, cultural and political significance. Aural comprehension activities will develop listening accuracy, and will involve authentic audio visual materials including films, songs, news reports and other media. Written work will include grammar revision and application via exercises and composition, as well as analysis of authentic texts. Reading skills are enhanced by studying a range of genres and styles. Students should improve their reading comprehension and begin to develop skills in critical analysis.
