Subject Description

Students will be required to write a thesis of 12 000 words on a topic approved by the supervisor. They will also be required to present a seminar paper on the results of their research.

Generic Skills

  • have an ability to evaluate research and professional literature concerning Asia;

  • have a capacity to articulate their findings and views in oral and written presentations;

  • have an advanced understanding of major issues and sensitivities regarding Asia;

  • have a capacity to engage where appropriate with issues to do with Asia;

  • have an appreciation of the design, conduct and reporting of research.

Assessment

A thesis of 12 000 words 100% (due at the end of the second semester of enrolment).
