Subject Description

This subject complements 110-167 Indonesian Level 1B by continued development of students' knowledge of Indonesian society and culture. Grammar, vocabulary and language skills are integrated and reinforced using a variety of texts and audio-visual materials.

Generic Skills

  • acquire written communication skills through essay writing and seminar discussion;

  • show attention to detail through essay preparation and writing;

  • acquire time management and planning skills through managing and organising workloads for recommended reading, essay and assignment completion;

  • acquire public speaking skills through tutorial and seminar discussion and class presentations.

Assessment

Written work totalling 1000 words 50% (due throughout the semester), a short oral presentation 25% (due at the end of semester) and a final essay 500 words 25% (due during the examination period). Students are required to attend a minimum of 80% of all classes in order to be eligible to take the examination.
