Subject Description | This subject involves advanced spoken and written Chinese. By the conclusion of this subject students should have built on the knowledge of Chinese gained in their first year and be able to read original Chinese material on current affairs as well as simple literary texts. They should be able to conduct conversations in Chinese on topics of general interest. |

Assessment | A mid-semester test 10%, an oral presentation 20% (at the end of semester), a class participation 10% and a final 2-hour examination 60% (during the examination period). |
