Subject Description | This subject is an advanced course in Chinese language and literature for students who are literate in Chinese. At the end of this course, students will be familiar with the development of modern Chinese literature (1918-1949) and of classical literature (Spring and Autumn to Sui) and the major works thereof. |

Assessment | In-class exercises 5% (due throughout the semester), oral presentation 20%, two assignments 750 words each 25% (due mid-semester and at the end of semester) and a final 2-hour examination 50% (during the examination period). |
