A 1-hour grammar class and a 1-hour laboratory class (directed study) per week

Subject Description

This subject concentrates on further developing listening and grammar skills in Spanish. Listening activities present new structures and vocabulary in context and provide students with models for pronunciation and discourse. Students will work individually on a range of activities and tasks involving comprehension and pronunciation. Part of this work will be in the computer-aided language laboratory or in the audio language laboratory. The grammar class focuses on new structures which develop the students' understanding of Spanish grammar.

Assessment

A mid-semester and a final listening comprehension test 50%, a 10-minute oral achievement test 30% and short weekly tests 20%.
