Subject Description | This subject surveys and analyses some of the main developments in world affairs since the end of the Second World War. This includes major themes such as the rise of globalisation, the growing importance of NGOs and the signficance of transnational social movements. It also covers key international events, particularly the course and aftermath of the Cold War, as well as national and regional histories, especially in Europe, East Asia and the Middle East. Particular attention is paid to social and economic forces including global trade. |
Assessment | Written work totalling 4000 words (100%) submitted on-line throughout the semester. |
