Subject Description

This subject addresses issues of theory and practice in the arenas of art, performance and technology. To this end, the subject will feature non-traditional teaching and learning formats that will seek to address interdisciplinary, intercultural, and multi-modal issues and forums. Of critical importance here is the interaction of new technologies and their applications. A program of lecture/seminar presentations will develop thematic concerns that will sit in dialogue with student-initiated projects across a variety of art forms.

  • be able to present written and oral communication to a professional standard regarding their treatment and material choices.

Written work totalling 4000 words comprising an essay of 2000 words 50%, (due at the end of semester); a practical project of 1600 words equivalence that identifies and applies relevant theoretical concerns 40% (due at the end of semester); and seminar dialogue and participation 10%. A hurdle requirement of a minimum of 80% attendance required.
