Subject Description | This subject introduces students to the typical graphic conventions, materials and methods of design documentation used in landscape architecture. Topics covered in the materials section of the course include aggregates, concrete, bitumen, masonry and masonry structures, timber and timber structures, pools and ponds, metals and plastics. In the documentation portion of the course students are introduced to the basic principles of grading (earth works) and taught how to produce a set of construction documents, including documents such as a title sheet, demolition plans, grading plans, layout plans, planting plans and detail drawings. |
Generic Skills | On completion of the subject students should have developed skills in research, critical analysis and writing and some experience with group work. |
Assessment | Assignments equivalent to 3000 words (60%), plus a two-hour examination (40%). |
