Subject Description

In this subject, students revise the basic elements covered in semester one, continue with word formation, reading, writing and simple conversation. Students are introduced to more complex grammar and syntax as well as an historical perspective of the language. Increasingly difficult texts of various genres are read. On completion, students should have a sufficient grasp of modern Hebrew grammar, vocabulary and syntax to be able to read simpler modern texts; and an ability to conduct basic conversation and write short assignments.

Assessment

Written work totalling 2000 words. Weekly vocabulary tests 5%, weekly exercises 20%, a 5-minute oral test 10%, a mid-semester exam 30% and an end of semester exam 35%.
