Twenty-four hours of intensive classes held during the week 10 - 14 July, at the Australian Linguistics Institute at the University of New England, Armidale, NSW

Subject Description

This is a special subject for students who wish to complete courses at the biennial Australian Linguistics Institute. Students must attend four one-week advanced level courses. They will select a project topic from the list provided by the ALI course presenter. On return from the ALI, they will be assigned a supervisor/s under whom they will complete the intensive reading and other work requirements. Assessment of the project will be completed by staff of the Department of Linguistics and Applied Linguistics.

Assessment

An essay of 5000 words 100% (due in late October). This may be varied by mutual agreement between the lecturer and the student to include a problem based component, with appropriate re-weighting of assessment.
