Subject Description

This subject builds on skills acquired in 126-144 Beginners Swedish A. It focuses on spoken Swedish in everyday situations, and includes listening comprehension, pronunciation and conversation. Students will acquire skills through intensive language training in the language laboratory as well as through dialogues and other conversational exercises in the classroom. This subject will give students an expanded vocabulary so that by the end of the subject they can express themselves in an increasing number of everyday communicative situations. On completion of the subject, students should have achieved the level of competence required for admittance to 126-064 Intermediate Swedish A and 126-065 Intermediate Swedish B.

  • be able to work efficiently as a team member and have an understanding of social and cultural diversity.

Assessment

A 15-minute oral examination 50% (at the end of the semester), listening and comprehension tests 25% (during semester), and vocabulary tests/oral assignments 25% (during semester).
