Subject Description

This subject is a continuation of 126-064 Intermediate Swedish A, and focuses on the spoken language. Students will acquire communicative skills to express themselves in a greater number of situations, as well as gaining an increased understanding of spoken Swedish in various contexts. Emphasis will also be placed on the structure of Swedish so that students will speak Swedish with an increasing level of correctness and situational appropriateness. On completion of the subject, students should have achieved the level of competence required for admittance to 126-070 Advanced Swedish A.

  • have further developed speaking and listening skills;

  • be able to express themselves in a variety of contexts;

  • be able to work efficiently as a team member and have an understanding of social and cultural diversity.

Assessment

A 15-minute oral examination 50% (end of the semester), listening comprehension tests 25% (during the semester) and oral presentations 25% (during the semester).
