A 1-hour lecture and a 1-hour German conversation seminar per week

Subject Description

This subject consists of a one-hour lecture on contemporary Germany and a one-hour German conversation seminar. On completion of the subject students should have the vocabulary for a moderate level of complexity in speaking German and a level of competency required for admittance into 126-008 Intermediate German C and 126-009 Intermediate German D.

Generic Skills

  • have developed their speaking and listening skills in a foreign language further;

  • be able to express themselves in a variety of contexts;

  • be able to work efficiently as a team member and have an understanding of social and cultural diversity.

Assessment

Two 10-minute oral tests of 500 words each 50% (due mid-semester and at the end of semester respectively) and a 1-hour examination 50%.
