Students who have completed 922-211 or 922-213 La Trobe - Spanish Beginners 2A are not eligible to enrol in this subject.

Completion of first-year Beginners Spanish or adequate knowledge of Spanish, without completion of VCE Spanish or an approved equivalent. Students should consult with departmental advisors prior to enrolment.

A 1-hour practical class and a 1-hour laboratory class per week

Subject Description

This subject emphasises Spanish speaking and listening skills, while also attending to the development of reading and writing skills. The student will be involved in a wide range of language acquisition activities and will be exposed to the Spanish language and Hispanic culture through written language, radio and film.

Assessment

Two 15-minute listening exams of 600 words 40% (due during semester), a 30-minute oral presentation of 800 words 50% (due during semester) and participation throughout the semester 10%.
