116-220 Intermediate Spanish A

Students who have completed 922-003 or 922-213 La Trobe - Spanish Beginners 2A are not eligible to enrol in this subject.

This subject is taught by the Department of French, Italian and Spanish Studies at the University of Melbourne.

Completion of first-year Beginners Spanish (37.5 points) or adequate knowledge of Spanish, without completion of VCE Spanish or an approved equivalent. Students should consult with departmental advisors prior to enrolment.

116-221 Intermediate Spanish C.

This subject emphasises Spanish speaking and listening skills, while also attending to the development of reading and writing skills. The student will be involved in a wide range of language acquisition activities and will be exposed to the Spanish language and Hispanic culture through written language, radio and film.

A 15-minute oral exam 25% (due during semester), three pieces of written homework 20% (due during semester), two listening exams 20% (due during semester), two 1-hour written exams 35% (due mid-semester and during the examination period respectively).
