Generic Skills

  • have acquired the skills necessary to read and discuss simple literary texts;

  • be capable of understanding social, political, historical and cultural contexts and international awareness/openness to the world: through the contextualisation of judgements and knowledge, developing a critical self-awareness, being open to new ideas and new aspects of French and Italian culture, and by formulating arguments;

  • be capable of communicating knowledge intelligibly and economically: through essay and assignment writing, tutorial discussion and class presentations;

  • acquire public speaking skills and confidence in self-expression, through tutorial participation and class presentations.

Assessment

A 1-hour written exam 50% (due at the end of semester), three class tests totalling 500 words 30% (due during semester) and a 500-word dictation 20% (due at the end of semester).
