107-157 Intermediate Latin Language A

A study score of at least 25 in VCE Latin or 107-153 Beginners Latin B or an approved equivalent.

This subject extends and reinforces students' knowledge of Latin grammar and syntax. The close examination of Latin linguistic forms and structures provided by this subject is designed both to increase students' understanding of how the Latin language functions, and to facilitate the reading of complex literary texts studied in other Intermediate Level Latin subjects. On completion of the subject, students should have consolidated and expanded their knowledge of Latin grammar and syntax, and improved their Latin reading ability.

Weekly exercises equivalent to 1000 words 50% (due during the semester) and an assessment test equivalent to 1000 words 50% (due at the end of semester).
