Consideration will be given to the literary and theoretical trends which underpin the texts to be studied, and also to the sociohistorical and cultural contexts within which the authors are writing.

Assessment

Two 1500 to 2000-word essays 80% and a 15 to 20-minute oral 20%. For 4th-year students greater achievement and application of research skills and a longer presentation will be required.
