Subject Description | This subject focuses on practical Spanish language and grammar, with an introduction to modern Spanish and Latin American culture. Written texts, radio and TV material, films and literary texts will be used to sharpen and develop performance in speaking, listening, reading and writing, and to broaden the student's knowledge of Hispanic culture. |
Assessment | A 1.5-hour test 30% (due at the end of semester), written work comprising: two class tests 20%, a 500-word essay to be written in class 15%, regular oral/aural exercises including listening comprehension 20% and two oral presentations 15%. Students must pass the end of semester written test in order to pass the subject. |
