Subject Description

This subject surveys modes of communication in which arts managers must engage from normal business correspondence to preparing documents or computer presentations and video clips for purposes of promotion. Students will be encouraged to develop a critical and analytical perspective on the effectiveness of selected materials in achieving their intended outcome.

Assessment

A class presentation and a written report of 1000 words for 3rd year or 1250 words for 4th year based on internet research 25% (due mid-semester), a graphic, print or electronic promotional material of 1000 words for 3rd year or 1250 words for 4th year 25% (due progressively through the semester) and a research essay of 2000 words for 3rd year or 2500 words for 4th year 50% (due at the end of semester). A hurdle requirement of a minimum 80% attendance required.
