Subject Description | In this subject, students will a) learn basic playing, maintenance and tuning techniques on at least one instrument from brass, woodwind or percussion families; and b) learn the fundamentals of group teaching techniques in brass, woodwind or percussion families. Students are not permitted to work on the same family of instrument as in earlier Group Music Skills subjects. |
Assessment | Performance of 10 minutes (50%); resource folio of 2000 words (30%); composition for three to five instruments of the family under study of three minutes duration (20%). 100% attendance is expected; less than 80% will result in a fail in the subject. |
