Subject Description | On completion of this subject, students will have a sound knowledge of issues central to the conduct of private instrumental and vocal teaching practice, including the role of the teacher; underlying philosophical issues; learning processes in music performance; planning and implementation of curriculum; various teaching methods and techniques; and resources for teaching. Topics include introduction to relevant philosophies of music education; principles of teaching and learning in music; curriculum planning and implementation; teaching methods and techniques; and evaluation and selection of teaching materials. |
Assessment | Major assignment (70%); viva voce examination (30%). |
