Subject Description | Regular meetings will be held with the supervisor during the semester for advice on subject matter and technical execution of the work. One oral progress report will be required at the end of the semester. Students will develop an insight into a specific area of research and experience in basic research methods such as literature search, objective setting, data collection and problem solving; develop an ability to handle source materials and data, and to interpret and present them in a coherent manner in accordance with accepted conventions. |
Assessment | Written report of up to 10 000 words to be submitted at the end of Semester 2. The report must first be presented orally at a seminar. Although the seminar is not assessed, the report cannot be accepted unless there has been a presentation at a seminar. |
