Subject Description

This subject focuses on advanced topics in phonetics and/or phonology. The subject comprises intensive reading and advanced practical training in the experimental/theoretical analysis of phonetics or phonology of spoken language.

Generic Skills

  • communicate intelligibly and economically their understanding of debates within this area;

  • understand the social and cultural context of the construction of identities in and through language.

Assessment

Two written projects totalling 5000 words (one due mid-semester the other at the end of semester).
