Subject Description	In this subject students will be introduced to the basic spoken language. Students should achieve the level of spoken language competency required for admittance into 126-128 Beginners German C and 126-129 Beginners German D.
Generic Skills	have acquired speaking and listening skills in a foreign language; be able to work efficiently as a team member; have an understanding of social and cultural diversity.
Assessment	A 10-minute oral exam 60% (due at the end of semester) and a 30-minute aural exam 40% (due at the end of semester).
Prescribed Texts	D Dollenmayer, Neue Horizonte (Textbook and Workbook). (latest ed) Heath & Co.
